For Contractors: What to Send for a Bore Quote
Send the location, footage, product and what you are crossing; with those four items most bores can be priced without a site visit.
What to send
- Address or nearest intersection, plus the county
- Bore length, or a plan sheet with entry and exit marked
- Product: material, size and count (for example, two 2 in HDPE conduits)
- What you are crossing: road (whose?), driveway, slab, pond or canal
- Depth spec and any permit conditions you already have
- Schedule: target start and any hard deadline
What each crossing usually needs in Florida
The crossing decides the paperwork more than the method does; every bore needs an 811 ticket because Florida law counts boring as excavation (Fla. Stat. 556.102).
| Crossing | 811 notice | Permit |
|---|---|---|
| Private driveway or walk | 2 full business days | Usually none |
| City or county road | 2 full business days | Right-of-way permit from the road owner |
| State highway | 2 full business days | FDOT utility permit |
| Beneath state waters | 10 full business days | Depends on the waterbody owner and agencies |
Notice periods: Fla. Stat. 556.105.
Before we mobilize
We confirm the ticket number and positive responses, pothole any marked line the bore crosses, and agree on where the pits go and how the surface is restored, so there are no surprises on the day.
Typical contractor jobs
- Electrical Conduit Boring. Electrical conduit for generators, EV chargers, pool equipment and outbuildings is commonly bored under driveways and walks by missile or HDD.
- Fiber Optic Conduit Installation. Fiber is usually placed in HDPE conduit installed by HDD, which keeps long runs under roads and yards without trenching.
- Gas Line Boring. Gas service lines in polyethylene pipe are often installed by HDD; gas work has extra owner and code requirements.
- Irrigation Sleeve Boring. Irrigation sleeves are short PVC crossings under hardscape so lateral lines can pass without cutting concrete.
- Water Service Line Boring. A new or replacement water service can be bored from the meter to the house, avoiding a trench through the lawn and driveway.
What you get back
A written quote listing the method, the assumptions behind the price, and what would change it (rock, extra crossings, restoration).
Or email plans to info@statelinehdd.com.
