Safety on Every Bore

Utility strikes are the biggest risk on a bore, so every job starts with an 811 ticket, waits for marks, and adds a private-line sweep before the drill turns.

Florida law requires notice to Sunshine 811 at least 2 full business days before excavating on land, and 10 full business days beneath state waters. Member operators mark to within 24 inches of each side of their lines, and inside that tolerance zone the statute calls for hand digging, potholing, soft digging or vacuum excavation (Fla. Stat. 556.105).

Private utility sweep

811 covers member operators only. A GPR and EM sweep looks for private lines (irrigation, lighting, private services) along the bore path.
